Medical Journal Armed Forces India (MJAFI) is a bimonthly, peer reviewed international publication. The Journal is published bimonthly by Elsevier, a division of Reed-Elsevier (India) Private Limited. It is circulated to all members of Armed Forces Medical Services of India, all medical college libraries of India and subscribers.

MJAFI The full text of the journal is available online at http//www.mjafi.net. The journal allows full access to its contents on registration. The journal does not charge for submission, processing, publication of manuscripts or for color reproduction of photographs. Medical Journal Armed Forces India (MJAFI) publishes original articles, case reports, review articles, editorials, short communications, contemporary issues, letters to editor, book reviews and other scientific information in all disciplines of medical science. The members of Armed forces of India Medical Services are contributing to international literature, besides there are problems specific to this region and the solutions for them need to be exchanged and this Journal makes a great contribution to disseminate the knowledge amongst its members. The Editorial Board comprises eminent specialists and consultants from India and abroad. Although preference is given to original work carried out in the Indian subcontinent, contributions are welcome from anywhere in the world.

The Medical Journal Armed Forces India was founded as the Journal of Indian Army Medical Corps at Poona. The first volume was released in 1945 and a copy of the same is preserved in the AFMC Ashoka Chakra Library.

The journal has been reqularly publishing medical articles changing its location from erstwhile Poona to Lucknow, Delhi and Mumbai as well. Presently, the Medical Journal Armed Forces India is published by Elsevier for the Armed Forces Medical Services India and is based in the Armed Forces Medical College campus.

The journal has published its 79th volume in 2023 and it completed 75 years in the year 2019 making it the Platinum Jubilee issue.

Very few medical journals have withstood the financial and administrative challenges over such a long period . The Journal is published bimonthly by Elsevier, a division of Reed-Elsevier (India) Private Limited and enjoys an extensive readership with circulation in India and across the world. It is circulated to all members of Armed Forces Medical Services of India, all medical college libraries of India and subscribers. Being an international peer reviewed journal, it is indexed with PubMed Central, Scopus, Embase, International Abstracts of Biological Sciences and meets all NMC Criteria. The present cite score as on November 2023 is 3.5 and Journal is identified among top 3 multi-specialty Journals of India. There have been constant efforts by editorial team of the journal to build upon its success and transform the journal into a preferred source for publishing multidisciplinary, high end research across the country.
