The nursing courses conducted by the College of Nursing under AFMC are given in the following table:
College of Nursing has been identified as the Sub-Sub recipient of the GFATM project funded by the Global Fund in collaboration with Indian Council. The project has the approval of DGAFMS vide letter No B/69063/DGMS-4B dt 10 Aug 2009. Brig JA Fernandez is the Principal Coordinator and Lt Col LP Parida is the Project Coordinator & trainer of the Course. Till date 2198 nurses have been trained out of which 434 are MNS officers.
The faculty of the College is actively involved in classroom and clinical teaching in their area of specialization for all the courses run by the College. The faculty are the Postgraduate nurses ion different specialities. External Lecturers are also engaged on part time basis for teaching subjects like Sociology, Nutrition, Hindi, education and Computer Science.
Clinical experience is provided in the following areas
The students during the training period are sent for Community Health Nursing experience in the Urban Community at Sholapur bazaar and Rural Community experience at Phursungi village. Various educational visits are also planned to various institutes research centers and voluntary organizations as per curriculum requirement to aid the students to develop indepth knowledge of their subjects and a deeper appreciation of the work being done by other organizations.
