Legacy of Excellence, Innovation in Healthcare, and Leadership in Medical Education

Welcome to the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Established in January 1965 under the visionary leadership of Col N J Choksey, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology has built a rich, decades-long tradition of clinical excellence, academic rigor, and pioneering research. Today, under the dynamic leadership of Col Madhusudhan Dey, the department continues to push medical boundaries, combining a holistic, evidence-based approach to patient care with cutting-edge medical education.

We foster a culture rooted in curiosity, innovation, communication, and skill acquisition, aiming not only to provide world-class healthcare but also to nurture the character, calibre, and leadership potential of the next generation of doctors and medical professionals.

Our Mission Statement: The Department aims to impart comprehensive knowledge and training in the science and art of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to undergraduates and post graduates and inculcate in them the quest for knowledge and skill, a strong desire to strive for excellence and a deep concern for the cause of women’s health.
